Less Is More For New Double Oven
In a classic case of less is more newly relaunched whitegoods specialist, Omega Appliances, has released a compact double oven that offers all the practicalities of a conventional double oven but takes far less space.
In a collaboration of clever design and innovative thinking, the Omega OO727XA measures only 720mm high (conventional double ovens are closer to 900mm) and yet offers two independent ovens with a host of cooking functions.
The main oven, with a capacity of 53.37 litres (gross), has six functions – fan forced (the most versatile function), bakers’ mode (ideal for pastries), fan assisted (excellent for baking and browning), classic convection (the best choice for long, slow cooking) fan grill (meat and fish retain all their moisture and flavour) and half static grill (for crisping and browning). This oven also has the convenience of a fully programmable digital clock – the user can choose to pre-set the oven to both start and stop cooking or just stop. It also has a minute timer and manual override.
The auxiliary oven, with a capacity of 41.05 litres (gross), placed above the main oven, features three cooking functions – static grill, classic convection and base heat only. This will not only bake and grill but provides excellent warming facilities.
For sheer convenience and safety both ovens have a cooling fan, double glazed door and forced-air door-cooling – together, these devices ensure both the exterior oven doors and adjacent cabinetry remain cool.
The OO727XA compact double oven is a perfect design for installation at chest height to negate the need for bending when accessing the oven – it can also, of course, be installed as a conventional under bench appliance.
The oven is 60cm wide and carries a two year in home warranty on parts and labour.
