The Big Fans Of Summer Cool
The stay-cool factor for summer is about to reach new heights with the launch of a stylish, cost-efficient ceiling fan that utilises wireless technology for its remote control.
The Casablanca Deluxe, by Omega Appliances, is the result of growing consumer demand for a streamlined contemporary version of the traditional ceiling fan, which is still recognised as the most energy efficient means of staying cool during summer.
This new fan features a splayed blade configuration with high air-movement and will cost, on average, less than $10 a year to run (based on operating eight hours a day for a period of three months).
Consumer feedback has shown a shift away from the rattan finishes of yesteryear that were prone to dust collection and a distinct preference for the gloss white, silver and stainless steel finishes that feature in the Casablanca Deluxe range. A further plus is that the UV polyurethane finish of these models is also resistant to fading and yellowing.
Other innovations of the Casablanca Deluxe are the wireless remote control and the streamlined profile. Wireless remote eliminates the need for ‘line of sight’ use and does away with the infra-red ‘eyes’ that used to stick out of the top of the cowl of conventional models. The disappearance of the unsightly screws on the cowl and the introduction of a long-skirted clipper light fitting that melds with the overall shape of the motor results in a much smoother, sleeker profile.
The Casablanca Deluxe, by Omega Appliances, is available nationally from electrical outlets, lighting and fan specialists in white, silver or stainless steel with optional clipper light and remote control. All models have a summer/winter switch which reverses the direction of the blades in winter so as to push warm air down from the ceiling towards the floor.
Both the white and silver models, with four 120cm blades, retail for $139 and the stainless steel version is $219. Models with an integrated clipper light retail for $179 and those with a wireless remote control retail for $199. The Casablanca Deluxe fans with both remote control and clipper light retail for $229.
