A Classic Case of Cool Style
Classic cooling in simple, understated styling is back in vogue with new generation ceiling fans making a comeback in the timeless colours of black, white, brushed aluminium and beige.
The return to favour of the relatively planet-friendly ceiling fan - as opposed to the energy hungry air conditioner - can be directly attributed to consumers’ quest for more energy efficient options and the fact the ceiling fan is ideally suited to any architectural style, says one of Australia’s leading suppliers.
Omega Appliances, who estimates about two million of its fans are currently in use in homes throughout Australia, claims one of its most recent ceiling fan designs, the Airspace, with its very simple, clean lines and four 17° pitched blades (giving a 130cm sweep) delivers optimum air movement to create a significant cooling effect. The blades and motor of this model are identical in UV resistant finish and colour and have the option of integrated 100W halogen oyster light and remote control.
Each fan has a powerful, whisper-quiet motor, a reversing switch for increased heating efficiency during the winter months and a three-speed wall controller. The sturdy construction and high-end components of the Airspace ensure many years of trouble-free, near silent operation.
The Airspace ceiling fan, by Omega Appliances, is available nationally from electrical retail outlets and lighting specialists at about $209. Optional oyster light retails for $49 and the remote control for $79. The appliance carries a seven year motor warranty which includes an in-home two year warranty on parts and labour.
