Large Wash Results For Limited Laundries

Small laundry, lack of space, large family, no outdoor drying area – these are no longer an excuse for not having clean, dry laundry while conserving water, energy – and space!

Omega Appliances has introduced a range of Easy Logic laundry products, comprising two condensor washer dryers, that make a considerable contribution to our individual planetary responsibilities. Each appliance is both a front load washing machine and tumble dryer in the one appliance - and yet a full 8kg load can be washed in about half the water used in many top loading machines.

The OWD8000WA features automatic sensing technology called Easy Logic that automatically reduces wash time, water and power consumption according to the amount of clothing or bedding in the drum.

The washer of the appliance takes a full 8kg dry weight load while the condensor dryer takes the equivalent of a 4kg dry weight load.

Alternatively, the OWD6000WA – identical in features and aesthetics, takes a 6kg dry weight load and a 3kg load for the dryer.

Both appliances have 16 wash programmes ranging from cycles specifically designed for cottons and synthetics through to delicates, woollens and daily quick and cold programmes. All wash options are thoroughly covered, especially with seven different wash temperatures (from cold to 90°C), five spin speeds (including no spin) plus four different delay start selections and options such as prewash, intense wash and extra rinse.

Environmental credentials for the OWD8000WA include a 4 star energy rating and a 4.5 star water efficiency rating.

Independent tests have shown the Omega OWD8000WA condensor dryer uses only 67 litres of water for a full 8kg dry weight load on a 40°C wash temperature and 1200rpm spin cycle. By comparison, top load washers can use up to 70 per cent more water* per load for an equivalent capacity appliance (the equivalent of 36,000 litres a year for a typical household).

Additional convenience factors of the Omega washer condensor dryers are the pre-programming options with delay-start timer.

This enables the user to leave a load of washing in the drum before leaving for work, for example, and come home to a freshly washed and dried load. The delay-start selection can be used to ensure the load finishes drying just as the user returns from work, ensuring the clothes are not unduly creased and crumpled as a result of sitting in the drum for several hours.

One more important point of difference – unlike conventional tumble dryers, condenser dryers do not require venting when installed in an enclosed room as they produce no external condensation.

The Omega condensor washer dryers are available nationally from selected department stores, electrical retailers and appliance specialists for about $1,499 for the OWD8000WA and $1299 for the OWD6000WA.
