Black - The New Style Option For The Kitchen

Having spent 22 years at the top of the kitchen wish list, the stainless steel oven and cooktop are facing serious competition from the very latest look – black glass.

Omega Appliances is one of the first cabs off the rank with its new collection of black glass cooktops that can be teamed with ovens and rangehoods in the same style.

The Aria collection of three gas cooktops – in 60, 70 and 90cm widths – offers a choice of four, five and six gas burners, each including a triple flame wok burner.

Each model features a front mounted stainless steel control panel with the hob of the appliance a single sheet of tempered black glass. Trivets and burner caps are in black cast iron and each burner has automatic electronic ignition and a safety flame failure device. 

Omega’s oven range in similar aesthetics includes multifunction models in 60, 70 and 90cm widths with products like the OO971XN 90cm wide, seven function oven partnering perfectly with the 90cm wide Aria black glass cooktop.

Other features of the OO971XN oven are its fully automatic cooking (the oven can be pre-programmed to start and finish cooking), forced airflow door cooling and double-glazed removable door.

And to complete the ensemble, check out the Omega OR912CXA 90cm wide stainless steel rangehood with black glass fascia. This rangehood has an airflow of 1027 cubic metres of air an hour with five minute delay stop action, three speeds, aluminium grease filters and shadow-free halogen lights.

The entire range of Omega black glass and stainless steel kitchen appliances is available nationally from electrical retailers and specialist appliance outlets. Each appliance carries a two year in home warranty on parts and labour.

The Aria cooktops retail for about $1199 for the 60cm model (OGG64A), $1399 for the 70cm model (OGG75A) and $1599 for the 90cm (OGG96A). Ovens range in price from $799 for a 60cm model to $1799 for a 70cm multifunction oven and $2199 for a 12 function 90cm model. The OR912CXA 90cm rangehood retails for about $699.
