Black Is Back - On The Kitchen Runway!
After more than a decade of stainless steel domination in the kitchen, black has made an aesthetic come-back as the cutting-edge, elegant alternative.
Leading appliance brands are introducing ovens and cooktops with a very stylish, easy-clean black glass finish – a look that is gaining immediate acceptance due to its ability to enhance today’s most popular kitchen finishes such as stone, ceramic, timber and glass.
Omega Appliances has recently introduced a collection of appliances that combine this sleek, black glass finish with a raft of features that were previously only available in the most high-end products.
The richly featured Omega OO612XN oven, for example, has ten cooking modes, a Boost function that significantly reduces the time the oven takes to reach the required temperature and a Clean function for easy cleaning. Operating at a temperature of 250°C for one hour, the Clean function reduces any food particles and grease to a fine dust by working in tandem with the micro-porous enamel on the oven interior and catalytic liners.
The oven’s exterior is very simple and symmetric in style with a smart LED touch control panel with digital clock and easy-read symbols and graphics.
Other attributes of the 60cm OO612XN include its double door glazing, fully programmable automatic cooking plus cooking modes that include fan forced, baker’s function and fan grill.
With a range of 12 wall ovens, spanning 60, 70 and 90cm widths, Omega has a black glass, fully featured automatic oven to suit all installations. To complete the look, the brand has also recently launched a collection of three sleek black glass gas hobs in similar widths. Called Aria, the cooktops feature four (60cm), five (70cm) and six (90cm) burners, including rapid wok burner, flame failure device, automatic electronic ignition and cast iron trivets and burner caps.
The complete range of Omega kitchen appliances is available nationally from electrical retail outlets, appliance specialists and some department stores nationally. The OO612XN 60cm oven retails for $1499 and the 60cm OGG64A Aria black glass cooktop retails for $1199. All appliances carry a two-year in-home parts and labour warranty.
